Collect Call Service
A collect call or reverse charge, is a phone call in which the called party agrees to pay for an incoming call. This application is ideal for users who are in a situation where they need to call and do not have a calling card or a mobile phone. Typically a caller dials a toll free number to access a collect call service.

The Collect Call service is enabled by Veraz’s softswitch and service delivery platform, the ControlSwitch. Service providers deploying Collect Call service allow callers to dial a toll free number to access collect call service. Call collect charges begins immediately after the collect call is authorized and the caller is connected with the called party. Veraz supports two types of Collect Call services: Collect Call Service without and with operator assistance.

Veraz Collect Call service is practical and highly efficient. A caller only needs to follow simple steps to dial collect. These steps are as follows:
  • Dial a toll free number
  • Select the collect calling option
  • Dial the destination number
  • Say name in response to a Interactive Voice Response (IVR) message
  • Wait for approval from the destination party and talk

With support for multi-national signaling variants of SS7 and ISDN-PRI, and seamless any-to-any interworking between TDM signaling and IP protocols such as H.323 and SIP, the ControlSwitch enables delivery of Collect Call services to a broad range of end-users served by IP, PSTN and wireless networks. The ControlSwitch adaptable signaling framework enables customization of new national variants rapidly. Besides enabling rapid entry into new regions to exploit new market opportunities, this allows Collect Call service providers to reduce costs via local termination in multiple regions.
