Prepaid Services
Veraz’s Prepaid solution offers a set of options that include In-switch, traditional Intelligent Networks (IN) Service Control Point (SCP) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based Application Server (AS). Service providers can utilize an existing or newly deployed ControlSwitch to provide prepaid service for large national networks.

Service providers that have already deployed an SCP based prepaid solution can use the ControlSwitch to provide the prepaid users validation information from the existing SCP(s). Cooperating with third party partners; Veraz can implement solutions that transition prepaid service from legacy IN systems to a more flexible SIP based solution. This pure SIP-based NGN solution enables service providers to easily implement prepaid as part of a service infrastructure upgrade. Alternatively, operators with a ControlSwitch can implement their prepaid database as one of the modules of the ControlSwitch.

One of the prevailing trends in the industry is to transition legacy IN SCPs to IP-based SCPs and application servers. Veraz enables service providers to efficiently transition to a service-rich IMS architecture supporting prepaid natively or via thirdparty IP-based SCPs, thereby benefiting from the inherent advantages of deploying NGNs that have an open, standards-based distributed architecture that can be centrally managed.

With support for multi-national signaling variants of SS7 and ISDN-PRI, and seamless any-to-any interworking between TDM signaling and IP protocols such as H.323 and SIP, the ControlSwitch enables delivery of prepaid services to a broad range of end-users served by IP, PSTN and wireless networks. The ControlSwitch adaptable signaling framework enables customization of new national variants in a matter of days. Besides enabling rapid entry into new regions to exploit new market opportunities, this allows prepaid service providers to reduce costs via local termination in multiple regions.

The Veraz solution leverages best-of-breed prepaid servers that support a rich set of features and are based on standard off-the-shelf computing platforms for cost-effective, scalable and fault-redundant configurations. The comprehensive set of features supported include on-line credit card validation for recharge, multiple language support, multiple currency support, fraud control and an extensive set of real time rating features. The operational costs are minimized through web-based management of accounts, users and features, including the option of a customer self-service portal.
